Good afternoon. My name is Tom Burns, NOFX certified master mechanic from Redding, Pennsylvania. Today I’m going to briefly talk about how long it takes to paint a car. We’re going to include the time it takes to do to cover all your lenses, windshield wipers, and glass. While the inexperienced person will probably take a couple of hours, three, four hours to prep the car and properly tape everything off, the unexperienced tech will spend around 45 minutes to an hour to paint a vehicle and spray it in.
For an experienced person to paint their vehicle, it would take you relatively a couple of hours. Three at most. One thing I don’t recommend doing is spray painting it. It’s okay to touch up a small area, but to paint a whole vehicle, you’ll use to 30 to 40 cans.
